Coming soon! Why models flake and how to aviod flakes

Over rated photographer mathew Jordan Smith lighting technique

I personally think Mathew Jordan he is overated but anyways hear is how you relpicate his beauty shots.you need 5 lights,4 umbrellas,2 white foam cores ,Octabank and a triflector. This setup is usually done in a studio however you don't need one.Put one 8x8 foam core on the right and left side, then put two strobes fitted with a medium umbrella to light the background.Remember these lights should only be on the background. One light should be at least 3 feet while the other should be at 5 feet ,do the same for the opposite side.Make sure the background lights feather to the middle of the background.Check back later for the rest!

How to replicate Will Springfield lighting

I think most people heard of photographer Will Springield from Modelmayhem.A very talented young photographer that uses sex to add mood to his photographs. He uses a simple lighting setup that incorporate using hard direction light usually placed at a 45 degrees angle to his subject at 10 to 11 feet up in the air ,to replicate the sun at midday.Sometimes he usea fill light to fill in the shadows .For his fashion shots he uses a medium softbox and a fill card to throw back some of the light on the subject.

How to replicate smooth magazine lighting

The first thing you should know before you try to replicate smooth magazine lighting is black people skin always require more light. The best lighting to use on black skin is Ring flash.Ring lighting is a lighting that get rid of shadows and bring out the texture of the skin. You have to be very careful with this light because if used incorretly you will end up destroying all the texture of the skin.Smooth magazine lighting is done by using mostly Ring flash with a medium: silver umbrellla. The trick is to close down the umbrella so it mimics a medium soft box.The umbrella is the fill light and the Ring flash is the main light.Try bracket the exposure and use the histogram to see if the details are clipping on the high lights and shadows.

Lighting based on emotion

Owning a camera or being good at photoshop do not make you a photographer.Photographers create images that evoke emotion .When you light you have to light for impact.Wheter it is making half the light on the face go black to give it a horror field or exposing the the entire scene to light for beauty.Ask yourself what you want the viewer to think about? What kind of mood are you going for? How many lights will it take to get that look? Always, start lighting with one light first and look what that light is doing to the scene then add more lights after you figure out what the first light is doing.

Photographers to watch

I am new to photography .A lot of my techniques I learned from commercial photographer Jill Greenberg.Again you have to know how to light before you can be a good photographer.Your lighting should match up to the mood you are going for.Take a look at Jill Green Berg behind the scene
